While Forensic Audio is a dedicated mastering studio, we undertake a limited number of mixing projects each year. Mixing is completed in the main studio with full use of Forensic Audio’s extensive range of mastering hardware as well as select pieces of mixing outboard from Empirical Labs, Purple Audio, Avalon, Universal Audio and Thermionic Culture. Mixes are completed with a hybrid approach integrating the best digital and analog tools available today.
Simon has been mixing for over 15 years for artists such as Felicity Groom, Bob Evans, The Kill Devil Hills, Apricot Rail, The Leap Year, The Tucker B’s and Umpire to name few. Mixing allows Simon to fully develop a track and to use his skills with deep listening, avoiding many of the possible issues that he experiences as a mastering engineer. Simon enjoy’s working closely with artists and producers to fulfil their vision for the recording.
Mixing is completed for a fixed price rate based upon the complexity of the mix and number audio tracks, and includes the full mixing session and up to three revisions as needed. The final mix will be delivered in the most appropriate format for mastering and will also include an instrumental mix of any track with vocals, which can be used for publishing and sync opportunities.
